Leadership
Sacred Heart’s leadership program is designed to foster the individual gifts and talents of young people and nurture the leadership qualities of our students. Empowering them to develop skills to lead and serve their communities with courage.
Student leaders provide an authentic student voice and presence in the decision making processes and strategic direction of the College .
Our student leadership program is designed to provide opportunities for students to develop skills and have a positive impact on their community across a range of portfolios including Mission, The Arts, Sports and House.
Marist Solidarity (MSol)
This is a social justice group that involves itself in activities such as fundraising, volunteering, advocacy and sustainability.
Students participate in the following types of activities to make a difference in the community:
- Walk A Mile in My Boots for the Hutt Street Centre
- Winter Sleep Out for the St. Vincent De Paul’s Society
- Making soup throughout the winter for the Adelaide Day Centre
- Supporting the annual Christmas Drive
- Fundraising for various Catholic charities.
Game Changers
Game Changers is a comprehensive Marist Youth Ministry program for students in Years 7-12. Highlighted by a strong sense of community, regular meetings, creative faith formation, and service opportunities, Game Changers forms faith-filled leaders and agents of change within our College community. The program is facilitated by ‘Mentors’, who are Sacred Heart College old scholars that accompany students on their journey of faith formation and leadership. This journey is divided into three tracks that are grounded in the stories of Jesus, Mary and Marcellin. The focus areas of Game Changers are:
- Identity and community
- Christian leadership and service
- Solidarity and vocation
