Beyond the classroom
Sport & Clubs
Sacred Heart is a College rich in sporting culture and tradition and provides students of all abilities to be involved in a broad range of sports.
The College enters teams and individuals into weekly inter-school competitions, School Sport SA Statewide Knockout competitions, Australian Marist School Carnivals and a cultural exchange with Assumption College in Kilmore, Victoria.
Each year the College fields in excess of 130 sporting teams and over twenty five sports, so there is something for everyone, and for all abilities. All students are encouraged to take part in the sports and activities on offer. To encourage participation, the College offers high quality facilities that allow students to engage fully in their chosen pursuits.
As a Catholic College in the Marist tradition, Sacred Heart College places great emphasis on ‘being Marist’. We use the Marist Characteristics of Presence, Family Spirit, Simplicity, In the Way of Mary and Love of Work to define what constitutes appropriate conduct, both on and off the sporting field.

Celtic FC Partnership
Sacred Heart College is partnered with Scottish football powerhouse, Celtic Football Club. Given both Celtic FC and our College were founded by Marist Brothers only ten years apart in 1887 and 1897 respectively, the partnership aims to build on shared values bestowed upon us by our founders.
Celtic Soccer Academy provides year round support to the College through the sharing of curriculums, monthly mentoring of coaching staff and delivery of coaching camps and education clinics. A key element of the partnership is the opportunity for selected students to travel to Glasgow and train with the prestigious Celtic Soccer Academy. This immersive experience not only hones their soccer skills under the guidance of expert coaches but also allows them to gain invaluable insights into the professional sports environment.
36ers Partnership
Sacred Heart College are proud to be a part of the Adelaide 36ers High-Performance Schools Program. Exclusive to three schools in South Australia, the unique basketball program is an outstanding opportunity for Hearts basketball students.
By connecting with the Adelaide 36ers, Sacred Heart are able to utilise the club’s skills and connections to enhance our student’s learning outcomes.
The club provides Sacred Heart exclusive access to coaches, training sessions, coach education, leadership engagements, match day experiences and clinics.
