The 2026 Celtic FC Academy Player Experience concluded on 30 April 2026, with our group returning home from Glasgow, Scotland after an unforgettable and enriching journey.
Kiara and Savea were fully immersed across the U13–U15 age groups, while Abyss embraced the challenge of training with U14, U15 and U17 squads at Celtic FC. This cross-age experience provided a supportive yet challenging environment, helping each player grow in confidence, skill and game awareness.
Training sessions took place at three of the club’s outstanding facilities: Lennoxtown Training Centre, Celtic Park and the redeveloped indoor complex at Barrowfield. Each setting offered a unique glimpse into the professionalism and high standards that define one of Europe’s most respected football clubs.
Off the pitch, the experience was just as memorable. Students and staff attended the Scottish Cup semi-final, enjoying a thrilling 6–2 extra-time win over St Mirren FC. They also experienced the atmosphere of a key league match at Celtic Park, where Celtic secured a 3–1 victory against Falkirk FC.
A special highlight was the opportunity for students, alongside staff member Kurtis Harrison, to be interviewed by Celtic TV, an experience that reflected the strength and warmth of the partnership between Sacred Heart College and Celtic FC. The group also had the pleasure of meeting Rose Reilly, World Cup winner and Celtic FC Ambassador, during a U13 Academy tournament. The tournament ended in exciting fashion, with Celtic overcoming Manchester United in a penalty shootout.
Beyond football, students embraced the cultural side of the tour, exploring the vibrant cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh, adding another special dimension to their experience. This journey represents so much more than just a tour – it reflects a shared vision and a genuine Marist connection. We are grateful to Celtic FC for their ongoing support and look forward with excitement to providing this incredible opportunity to more students in 2027. 💚
