To our Sacred Heart College community
What a year! Throughout 2025, our students have grasped all opportunities across every area of College life. We’re incredibly proud of each young person for their achievements, growth, and the many ways they’ve contributed to our Hearts community.
Last week was truly memorable in that we celebrated two significant events: our Year 9s marked an important milestone with their student-led Rite Journey Homecoming Celebration on Tuesday, followed by the Class of 2025’s Year 12 Graduation on Friday. Both events are significant steps in the lives of our students, but what made them truly special was the support of families and friends who stood beside them, giving true meaning to Family Spirit.
To all parents, caregivers, and friends across the Hearts community – thank you. Your encouragement, support and presence make a world of difference. And to our dedicated teachers and staff, we offer our appreciation for guiding, challenging and championing our students throughout the year.
Upon commencement of next year, I will leave you in the very capable hands of Deputy Principal, Daniel Head, who will act in the role of Acting Principal across Term 1 2026. I have been invited to undertake the role of Acting MSA Regional Director (VIC, SA, WA) while the MSA Regional Director, Mr Darren McGregor, engages in a period of Long Service and Enrichment Leave. I know the Hearts community will continue to thrive in my absence and I wish you all well for the beginning of the new school year.
As we head into the Christmas break, I extend my sincere thanks to everyone who has played a part in the life of our Hearts community in 2025. I wish you a safe, joyful and blessed holiday season.

Celebrating the graduating Class of 2025
Our Sacred Heart College community gathered to celebrate the Class of 2025 on Friday and look back on their final year of schooling filled with growth, achievement and unforgettable moments.
During the ceremony, College Principal Daniel Lynch proudly presented each graduate with their certificate and a special gift from the College. Families were treated to videos capturing many of the highlights that shaped the year, from Sports Day and the Year 12 Retreat, and the Year 12 Formal to the final days of classes. Surrounded by family and friends, it was a pleasure to witness our Year 12 students enjoy a well-deserved celebration of all they have achieved.
After the formalities, and despite the rain, graduates and their families enjoyed food, drinks and plenty of photos to capture their final gathering as a cohort at Sacred Heart. We extend our sincere thanks to all staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to create such a memorable occasion.
To our Year 12s – we wish you every success as you step into your next chapter.
Once a Heart, always a Heart.

The Rite Journey Homecoming Ceremony
Year 9 students, along with their families and mentor teachers gathered in the St Joseph’s Centre at Champagnat Campus last Tuesday for the final time to celebrate the last stage of the Rite Journey: the Homecoming.
This formal event provided an opportunity for students to reflect on their personal growth, challenges and achievements, symbolising the transition from childhood to adulthood. In true Rite Journey spirit, students led the evening, with representatives from each class delivering speeches about what they learned throughout the year and how they had grown. Classes highlighted significant moments such as circle time, class swaps, camp, their outreach efforts, and one class even performed a dance!
To conclude the evening, students shared a heartfelt letter with their parents/caregivers, outlining their intentions for 2026 and the kind of young adults they aspire to become as they move onto Year 10 at Marcellin Campus next year. It was a memorable cele
Celebrating our Champagnat students
Our Champagnat Campus community came together last Friday to celebrate the outstanding achievements of students who have excelled throughout 2025. We also took the opportunity to acknowledge and thank both our 2025 outgoing Student Leaders, while warmly welcoming those stepping into leadership positions for 2026. Our talented musicians added to the occasion with wonderful performances throughout the final assembly for the year. The morning concluded with a farewell gathering for our Year 9 students as they prepare to begin their next chapter at Marcellin Campus next year.
